All cases referred from our emergency clinics that will “LIKLY” require hospitalization “CANNOT” be drop-off appointments. A veterinarian will need to examine the patient to determine if the patient will need a higher level of care and give the owners an estimate

Why was the change made?

Sick patients have been hospitalized at the practice that need higher levels of care than what we can provide (especially if it’s busy); it’s a disservice to the patient for them to be hospitalized with us if they’re critical; this needs to be evaluated on a case-by-case basis
