We've updated how we handle hospitalization charges to ensure fairness in our billing practices. Please review the following changes carefully:
Hospitalization Package
Hospitalization is now treated as a package, similar to our wellness packages. This package covers various services that may or may not be performed, depending on the individual patient's needs during their hospitalization.
You can enter this package in one of two ways:
- As a therapeutic procedure.
- Added separately within the billing of the therapeutic procedure section.
Hourly Hospitalization Charge
We now have an hourly hospitalization charge. It's crucial that this charge accurately reflects the actual duration of the patient's hospitalization. This approach is fairer to clients, as a patient hospitalized for only a few hours at the end of the day will incur a lower charge than one hospitalized for a full day.
Standard Pump Fee
A standard pump fee will be applied to any patient receiving IV fluids. This will apply to most hospitalized patients.
Fluid Additive Fee
A fluid additive fee will be charged for specific additives, typically potassium chloride, for patients requiring longer hospitalization. All other IV fluids administered must be charged out separately.
Nursing Level Charges
Nursing care is now categorized into levels based on the frequency of treatments and medications:
- Level 1 Nursing: For treatments/medications administered every 6 hours or less frequently.
- Level 2 Nursing: For treatments/medications administered every 4 to 6 hours.
- Level 3 Nursing: For treatments/medications administered every 2 to 4 hours.
